Private visit with english speaking guide and cocktail at the Jean Lurçat and contemporary Tapestry museum:
The Mairie d’Angers and the ECPP Conference are happy to welcome you in the Jean Lurçat and contemporary Tapestry museum which presents works of textile art from the 1950s to the contemporary creations.
Since 1967, the Hôpital Saint-Jean (12th Century) has housed the « Chant du Monde » by Jean Lurçat. This manifesto of a politically committed artist is a contemporary echo of the Apocalypse Tapestry that you can see in the Angers castle; the collection of 10 tapestries produces a symbolic and humanist vision of the 20th Century.
